Atlanta Bridal Debut

15Feb

We don’t normally like to fan our own feathers around the bakery…but this definitely calls for it! Erin (my beloved coworker who I’ve previously mentioned) has been featured in Atlanta Bridal Magazine for her fabulous wedding!!! Her story is incredible and her wedding was nothing short of a modern day fairytale…in a funky/fun sort of way! Not to mention the article mentions a Miss Mamie’s cake made by yours truly!!! It is obvious that she has an eye for color and a vivid imagination to pull such a personalized event together by utilizing the talents of family and friends. And is she stunning or what?!? Some people just have it all:)

So run out and get your copy today! Or just stop in the bakery and either Erin or I will be happy to show you her magnificent spread!

Tasha Jackson’s Baby Shower!

27Feb

Tasha Jackson from Montana had her baby shower with Miss Mamie’s this past month. Lisa Quilis, Tasha’s sister in-law planned the shower for her while she was in Marietta visiting family. The party went off without a hitch and was completely adorable. Tasha has one son (Bridger) and is expecting a little girl soon! I watched her open all her shower gifts and was almost jealous at how many cute little outfits she got! That little gal is sure to be the best dressed baby in town! The photo below includes Tasha’s Mother in-law, Lisa, Tasha, Tasha’s son Bridger, and Tasha’s Mom.

Josie’s 15th Birthday Cake!

25Feb

Last wednesday the twins (Chase & Josie) turned 15! Josie called and asked for a strawberry cake with strawberry buttercream. Knowing her favorite colors are pink and orange I whipped this little cake up for her to sweeten her day! The design was inspired by Kate Sullivan…who I absolutely adore. The cake looked cute at the party and even better when we added candles!

Hannah’s Reeses Cupcake

23Feb

Hannah Krzeminski is a Marietta High School senior who came to intern at Miss Mamie’s beginning in January. She is a sweet, bright, and talented young lady and I love having her here to help during the week! I must say I feel a little young to be responsible in guiding Hannah through her internship when I just finished my own last fall! As a result, her time spent here feels more like hanging out and having fun than anything. On Hannah’s first day I asked her what flavor cupcake she wanted to make. Rather than going with one of the flavors that we already had on the menu she invented her own! One hour later the Reese cupcake was born! I must say, it was a brilliant idea as Hannah’s cupcake increases in sales each week. Check out Hannah and her addition to the menu! Or come by and try it for yourself!

My Parents the Hippies

18Feb

I had to share these photos because who knew John and Betsy were hippies at heart?! Priceless. This was taken when I was just a twinkle in their eyes. Funny thing is…I think my Mom just finally made my Dad throw that Tshirt away a couple years ago. I’m also wondering if anyone knows what happened to that baby doll highchair? I would love to have it if it’s cramping someones basement. Thank you Michael for posting these on facebook.:)

Hilton Hotel Cupcakes

18Feb

I was so excited when David Poulton, director of food and beverage at the Hilton Hotel, called me and ordered cupcakes! I didn’t get the scoop on what they were for…but I’m assuming a large group? maybe kids? I did a variety. Red Velvet, Strawberry, Lemon, Blueberry, White, Cookie Dough, Cheesecake, Rocky Road, Chocolate Mint and Coconut. Yum!

UCONN Cupcakes!

18Feb

Last week Sandra stopped by and wanted to place an order for some custom cupcakes. Her son was just recently recruited by the University of Connecticut football team. How exciting and impressive!!! She wanted the UCONN logo on each cupcake for her son to share with his teammates. I love my job….I always get to help people celebrate!IMG_0295

Wilberman Gallagher

18Feb

Howard John’s best friend Wilberman Gallagher came over to stay for a few days while his Mom and Dad were out of town. Howard absolutely LOVES Wilber and spends most of his time chasing him and biting his neck fat. The two were a match made in heaven. They went for walks together, shared eachothers toys, and even slept side by side. Sadly, Wilber’s Dad came to pick him up last night which left Howard completely devestated. There’s nothing worse than a sad puppy. How do you cure puppy depression? I think a trip to Peidmont Park this Sunday is a must.

Calling All Fancy Nancy’s!

17Feb

I had to post these cupcakes because they are near and dear to my heart. They are EXACTLY what I would’ve wanted when I was turning 5 years old. Some lucky little Marietta girl had a Fancy Nancy Birthday Tea Party and I was lucky enough to be involved! Her mom came in with a “Fancy Nancy” book to explain how the party was being decorated and what it was she was looking for. This party sounded amazing! There was glitz and glam from the cupcakes to the bejeweled silverware! Her Dad even rented a tux! Soooo jealous! I actually asked if I could attend…not so sure they would want a stranger at the party, but I would’ve loved to have been a fly on the wall! Here is the mac daddy, gems, sparkles, and all!

Trip’s Valentines Day Cake

16Feb

After dropping off some cupcakes to Trip at the leasing office of my apartment he mentioned me doing something for his wife for Valentines Day. He said “She likes Red Velvet and she’s not the typical Valentines day gal.” So I ran with it. I love it when I get free reign on a cake…because I get to pretend it’s for me and do whatever I would like. I’m greedy like that :) So here is my Valentines day creation….4 layers of Red Velvet, 3 layers of Cream cheese. MMMMMMMMMM!Trip's Valentines Day Cake
